No Validation Occurs on Address Fields when Mail is Selected as the Preferred Contact Method (Doc ID 2085466.1)

Last updated on JUNE 15, 2017

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Candidate Gateway - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

No validation occurs on address fields when Mail is selected as the Preferred Contact Method

On the Candidate Gateway, when a registered user accesses the My Account Information page and selects the Preferred Contact Method as
"Mail", no error message is displayed upon save when the address fields are left empty.  The error message is displayed correctly for when Phone or Email are selected and the appropriate fields are left empty, it only occurs when the Mail value is selected.

There should be validation on address fields when Mail is selected as the Preferred Contact Method for an existing registered external applicant likewise the validation works for new registration for external applicant. In other words: Expecting the same validation to happen in both places, when Registering for the first time and when My Account Information page is accessed.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to the Installation table Main Menu > Setup HCM > Install > Product Specific > Recruiting Installation
On the Applicants tab, set the following values 1) Display Address to Yes 2) Address Required to No. Save

2. Go to the Careers site Main Menu > Careers and create a New User
Enter the required fields and select the Preferred Contact Method = Email, Phone and Mail.
Do not enter any data for phone email or address, leave the fields empty and Click Register.
An error message is displayed for the missing values and for each instance, as expected.

3. Go to the Careers site Main Menu > Careers and create a Sign in with an existing user.
Click on the My Account Information.
- For the Preferred Contact Method, select Email and leave the email address field empty and click Save.
An error message is populated (as expected).
- For the Preferred Contact Method, select Phone and leave the Phone Number field empty and click Save.
An error message is populated (as expected).
- Now, for the Preferred Contact Method, select Mail and leave the Address fields empty.
An error message is NOT populated. We would expect the same error message as when registering to appear.
