E-IB: WSDL URL from Provide Web Service Wizard Triggers "UserName not defined in database.(158,55)" with Nonexistent and Unreferenced User ID

(Doc ID 2086090.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 11, 2015

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.50 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On PeopleTools 8.5x, Integration Broker, using Provide Web Service Wizard, on trying to open the generated WSDL URL get SOAP Fault response.
PIA URL like http://host1:port1/psp/..., and WSDL URL like http://host2:port2/PSIGW/PeopleSoftServiceListeningConnector/SERVICENAME.1.wsdl
The SOAP Fault message contains error "UserName not defined in database.(158,55)", and the error parameter (the failing username) is "XXXX".
User ID XXXX indeed does not exist, and it is also not present in any relevant configuration, not in node ANONYMOUS, not in any node definition.

Where that failing user name XXXX comes from, and how to overcome that error?
