E-IB: PIA User Session Terminated on Navigating to Integration Network

On PeopleTools 8.53, Integration Broker

When attempting to access the Integration Network suite of pages, the user session is terminated with error as follows.

Replication Steps:
1. Sign-in into PIA.
2. Navigate PeopleTools > Integration Broker > Integration Network

The page "spins" for 10-15 seconds and then user is signed out of PIA with the below error:

An error has occurred. You may attempt to sign in again. If your attempt fails, please contact your System Administrator

Another errors is seen in application server domain log and stderr file:

Node XXXX references wrong GatewayID


In at least one known occurrence happened after a PeopleTools upgrade.
