Beginning with PeopleTools 8.55, PeopleSoft 9.2 applications will have a portal header on their classic pages that matches the fluid look and feel. This unifies the user experience of classic pages with newer fluid pages and applications. Part of this change is the replacement of the drop down menu navigation. With fluid applications, user navigation is meant to be more seamless and intuitive, as such another change with 9.2 and 8.55 is the fluid homepage as the default even on PC environments. With the fluid homepage and the new fluid Navigation Collection feature in 8.55, users have a more intuitive way to get to the applications most important to them. Customers should refer to the PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface and Navigation Standards White Paper (Document ID 2063602.1 for more information on the optimal way users can navigate to PeopleSoft applications.
So in summary for 8.55 our primary navigation methods are
- Homepage, tiles
- Navigation Collections
However, if you require the drop down menu navigation, it can be re-enabled by following the steps below:
