When a student logs into the system instead of seeing only the Self-Service student icon they also see a PeopleTools > Utilities > Administration icon that is not attached to any page access. For event notification the UTILITIES/PT_EVENTSDISPLAY menu items were added to a student permission list. This gives the student the ability to view the event messages sent to them. If these menu items are not given to them they get an error message after logging in. How do we remove this icon without removing the menu item access? We also can not hide the navigation in the portal because other users need to access PeopleTools menus.
1. Add PT_EVENTDISPLAY to permission list
2. Add permission list to role
3. Add role to user
4. User logs into PeopleSoft
5. User can now see PeopleTools -> Utilities -> Administration folder but no links they are authorized to click.
