Symptoms

The following error occurs when trying to send emails:

14683 11.07.23 0.001000 PSMCFSendMailException: Brief Message:Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.server.host, port: 25
14684 11.07.23 0.000000 PSMCFSendMailException: Detail Message:javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP host: someserver.something.com, port: 25;
 nested exception is:
java.net.SocketException: Permission denied: connect

at com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport.openServer(SMTPTransport.java:1934)
