If an employee is rehired without entering new Tax Code details, the payroll calculation will default to using 0T. However, when the uplift process is run, it will create a new EFFDT row dated as of the uplift date, but with the Tax Code details from the previous period of employment.
This will cause the payroll calculation to revert to using the Tax Code from the previous employment, which might be wrong.
Incorrect tax codes are used when calculating payroll, leading to the wrong amounts of tax being deducted.
