Why the CUSTOMER_CONTACT Component Interface Does Not Update the Contact Tables (PS_CONTACT_XXX) (Doc ID 2149482.1)

Goal

When using the ExcelToCI Utility in combination with the CUSTOMER_CONTACT Component Interface, the below Customer Contact tables (PS_CUST_XXX) are populated:

PS_CUST_CONTACT
PS_CUST_CNTCT_DOC
PS_CUST_CNTCT_CARD
PS_CUST_CNTCT_PHN
PS_CUST_CNTCT_TYPE
PS_CUST_CNTCT_SEQ

However the data in these tables cannot be maintained using the Contact Information component (navigation: Customers, Customers > Contact Information). The pages within that Components are using the following Contact tables (PS_CONTACT_XXX):

PS_CONTACT
PS_CONTACT_PHN
PS_CONT_OWNERS
PS_CONTACT_CUST
PS_CONTACT_CST_DOC
PS_CONTACT_CARD
PS_CONTACT_TYPE
