Symptoms

User is getting error when accessing User Preferences page.

Steps:

Navigate to Setup Financials/Supply Chain->Common Definitions->User Preferences->Define User Preferences


Error:

SQL error in Exec. (2,280) FO_HOT_LISTS.HotCategory.OnExecute Name:CategoryInUse PCPC:1647 Statement:31
Called from:FO_HOT_LISTS.UserHotListCategories.OnExecute Name:DisplayHotListCat Statement:48
Called from:OPR_DEFAULT.GBL.FO_USRHOTCAT_TL.RowInit Statement:3

During the execution of SQL, an error occurred in the Exec subroutine. The preceding message should have described the SQL being executed.

The App Server log indicated the following SQL failed:

SELECT COUNT(*) FROM PS_FO_APPL_HOT_TBL WHERE CATEGORY_ID = :1 AND OPRID = 'VP1'

with following ORA error:

ORA-01775: looping chain of synonyms
