'Field is Required' or 'Invalid Value' Errors on Search Pages after Upgrade to PeopleTools 8.55 (Doc ID 2157062.1)

Symptoms

On PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions, Student Records, 9.0 and 9.2 versions, Enrollment component pages and run control pages
Tools 855.00 and beyond.


ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

On Enrollment Request search record page, which defaults to the ADD tab, when the user clicks on the Find an Existing Value tab an error immediately appears: Field is Required.  The error occurs before the user has a chance to enter a value in the highlighted field.

On other CS Search Record pages where prompt field exist with coded edits, the same issue may manifest in an Invalid Value error being returned instead.

The error condition is unrelated to any User Default values configured.


 
EXPECTED ACTION
-----------------------------
Expect that the user can immediately click on the Find an Existing Value tab and populate the EMPLID or Request ID without having to clear the Term field value on the Add tab first. Or, on other search record pages where an error is returned, the expectation is the user can populate the fields without an error being returned.

ERROR
-----------------------

Invalid Value - press the prompt button or hyperlink for a list of valid values (15,11)

Field is Required (15,8)


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be illustrated using the following steps on the Enrollment Request page:
1. Navigate to Records and Enrollment, Enroll Students, Enrollment Request.
2. Note the user is brought to the ADD tab with the user default values of Institution, Career, and Term populated.
3. Since the user is not adding a new request, click on the Find an Existing Value tab. Error is immediately returned.
