9.1 upgrading to 9.2 version, Journal Post Questions
Question 1) 'GLPPPOST' COBOL process has been replaced by 'GL_JP' and Oracle is providing support for it till June 2017. Does that imply that the Cobol module 'GLPPPOST' will still work in 9.2?
Question 2) There is another version of the GL post module in 9.1, its called 'GLPPPST2' it is an executable version of COBOL 'GLPPPOST'. What will be its corresponding version in 9.2?
Question 3) Which program actually calls 'GLPPPST2' ?
Question 4) What's the utility/purpose of 'GLPPPST2'?
Question 5) In 9.2 which is a callable version of 'GL_JP' ?
Question 6) In case an Application engine (called program) gets in to a deadlock, is it capable of returning the SQL error code to the calling program (COBOL)?
Question 7) Right now (in 9.1) GLPPPST2 itself is capable to post journals i.e. the calling COBOL can call GLPPPST2 directly which will post the journals. But in 9.2 if the path be the calling Cobol calls GLPPPST2 and then GLPPPST2 calls GL_JP_PROC then what is the purposes of using the Application Engine (GL_JP_PROC )?
Question 8) Down the road are we planning to replace the GLPPPST2 with gl_jp_proc completely or will GLPPPST2 always be part of the code?
