Error when using the “Copy User Profiles” page to copy a user profile to an existing OPRID .
When using the “Main Menu > PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > Copy User Profiles” to copy a user profile to an existing OPRID, the page gives the error:
“User id xxxx can’t be created. This user id already exists in the database. If you would like to overwrite the exiting User ID you must first Delete the existing User ID”.
This used to work in PT 8.53. When the OPRID you want to copy a user profile and you enter an OPRID that’s there, the page gives the warning:
“Warning _replace existing User Id definition for xxxx?
The User ID already exists in the database. If you would like to overwrite the existing User definition press OK. Otherwise, press Cancel to change the User ID.”
It looks like in PT 8.55, the delivered code uses an Error statement to show the warning and that makes the execution of the Peoplecode program stops. In PT 8.53, the same PeopleCode uses a Warning statement which shows the message and gives the user a chance to continue or cancel.
