E-PORTAL - Activity Guide is not responding to a change in Action Item status during Pre-Processing (Doc ID 2185212.1)

Scenario is that Customer system has a Student Activity Guide consisting of 10 steps, each one being dependent on the last.

Step 2 asks that the student checks that their address is correct, and in order for the step to be completed, the student must have a HOME address type. While developing Activity Guides, customer has coded a Pre-Processing section of code that is triggered as Step 2 is accessed. However, as part of the preprocessing, customer developed code also checks if the student already has a HOME address, and if so change the status of the ActionItem to 4 (Completed) - this changes the Activity Guide step icon to 'completed (green)', however does not update the progress bar and does not make the Next button active as we would expect - it appears that the Activity Guide is not reacting/responding to a change in Action Item status during Pre-Processing
