Why Do Custom Trigger Points Not Fire Active Analytics Framework (AAF) Policies?

Customer's 2 new trigger points were registered for use in AAF (Enterprise Components > Active Analytics Framework > Setup > Register Trigger Point). They are called "When a Lead is Presented" and "When an Opportunity is Presented". Neither appear to be working even though the delivered "When a Support Case is Presented" does work on a policy that uses the same term. How to make the application work with the new trigger point?
