EAM 9.2: AM_DEPR_CALC Fails With Unique Constraint Error 'ORA-00001' For a Re-Categorized Asset (Doc ID 2187614.1)

When attempting to depreciate a categorized asset for which accounting date falls in next year to that of asset transaction date while re categorization,
the following error occurs-

c:\bld\g\e920\ora\e920g2au\sqr\amdpcalc.sqr: AMDPCALC - SQL Statement =

SQL Status = 1, SQL Error = ORA-00001: unique constraint (EMDBO.PS_DEPRECIATION) violated

Error on line 71:
(SQR 3301) Program stopped by user request.

SQR for PeopleSoft: Program Aborting.


1. 'Store Depr By Period' option should be selected at Business Unit/ Book Feature page in AM definition.
2. Create a new asset profile with 'Mid - Month' Convention option and 'Depreciate When In Service' option selected.

1. Create a new asset with the newly created asset profile, Transaction dt: 25-oct-2014; Accounting dt: 27-oct-2014. Make sure accounting periods are open for AM and GL.
2. Run depreciation for this asset.
3. Perform asset re-categorization with Transaction dt: 01-nov-2014; Accounting dt: 13-feb-2015. Use convention method as 'Mid - Month' and change the Asset Category to 'FF'.
4. Save the changes.
5. Run depreciation for this re-categorized asset.
