E-IB: How To Add the UTF-8 Encoding In the Outbound XML Messages? (Doc ID 2216332.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 17, 2017

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.53 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Customer tries to include the encoding attribute to the XML declaration section on the outbound messages. The proper approach to achieve this is by having an XSLT transformation program as per document 2084369.1.

The transformation program runs successfully but the output XML does not carry the UTF-8 encoding on the declaration section.

This is due to the XML validation at the application server layer and the UTF-8 encoding gets removed at the time of validation.
