Solution For Duplicate Effective Date (Doc ID 2229238.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2017

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Payables - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When having multiple effective dated VAT Defaults, deleting one of the rows from the VAT Defaults and Service VAT Treatment Defaults pages deletes the data from the PS_VAT_DEFAULTS successfully, but still rows exist in PS_VAT_DEFAULT_HDR.

REPLICATION STEPS
=================
1. Open an existing Vendor that has no VAT Setup
2. Mark the checkbox 'VAT Registration¿
3. Enter the VAT Defaults Setup with Effective Date 01/01/1900
4. Enter the Service VAT Treatment Defaults Setup with Effective Date  01/01/2000
5. Run a query on PS_VAT_DEFAULT_HDR for the relevant Vendor

Actual Behavior:
---------------------

The query output will show 2 lines:
Line 1 - Effective Date 01/01/1900 ¿ End Effective Date 31/12/2100
Line 2 - Effective Date 01/01/2000 ¿ End Effective Date 31/12/2100

Expected Behavior:
------------------------

It should be:
Line 1 - Effective Date 01/01/1900 ¿ End Effective Date 31/12/1999
Line 2 - Effective Date 01/01/2000 ¿ End Effective Date 31/12/2100

Changes

In order to delete effective dated row from VAT Defaults page or VAT Service Treatment page, same effective dated row should be deleted from both the pages in order to maintain consistency in END_EFFDT .
This is due to the existing design constraint on VAT defaults page .
