E-DPK: PT DPK Install Fails - "DPK does not belong to Windows platform" (Doc ID 2234188.1)

Symptoms

PT DPK install fails on Windows 2012 file server

While performing a PeopleTools only upgrade from 8.54.16 to 8.55.13 and installing the PeopleTools DPK on Windows 2012 R2 server. The following error message occurs, despite downloading the following zip files: PEOPLETOOLS-WIN-8.55.13_1of4, PEOPLETOOLS-WIN-8.55.13_2of4, PEOPLETOOLS-WIN-8.55.13_3of4, & PEOPLETOOLS-WIN-8.55.13_4of4.


ERROR
-----------------------
The PeopleSoft PeopleTools DPK does not belong to Windows platform. Please
download the Windows version of PeopleSoft PeopleTools DPK from Mos, and
rerun the script to setup the PeopleSoft environment.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. downloading the following zip files: PEOPLETOOLS-WIN-8.55.13_1of4, PEOPLETOOLS-WIN-8.55.13_2of4, PEOPLETOOLS-WIN-8.55.13_3of4, & PEOPLETOOLS-WIN-8.55.13_4of4..
2. run --> ./psft-dpk-setup.ps1 -env_type midtier -deploy_only -deploy_type all
3. Selecting the Root Directory ( C:\ ) as the PeopleSoft Base Folder.

Due to this issue, users cannot install the PeopleTools DPK on Windows 2012 R2 server
