Symptoms

On : 9.2 version, PUM# 18. Accounting Entries

Unique Constraint Violation When Running AM_AMAEDIST for Retired Assets

Encountered a unique constraint violation when inserting to DIST_LN_TAO4 when creating AM Accounting Entries with the AM_AMAEDIST AE:

-- 11:07:31.367 Process 27831 ABENDED at Step AM_AMAEDIST.600690.Step10 (Action SQL) -- RC = 805

-- 11:07:31.385 SQL Error: ORA-00001: unique constraint (SYSADM.PS_DIST_LN_TAO4) violated

This run included creating accounting entries for the retirement of several assets, one of which had a cost/retirement amount of 0.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Add an asset
2. Retire an asset
3. Run AMDPCALC process
4. Run AMAEDIST process

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot create accounting entries.
