The delivered derivation for Instance.TYPEYR contains 29 steps (See 9.0 Bundle 44 (GBR) HESA Field Derivation PeopleBook).
The expectation is that the majority of students at the institution will require TYPEYR 1 and will fall out of the derivation at either Step 3, or Step 28 (Default).
The exceptions are expected to be studying on particular Plans where the institution will set the TYPEYR = 2 (Steps 17, 18 and 19) at the Plan level.
However, the derivation in these steps converts value 2 to 3 or 4 based on logic around the COMDATE and/or ENDDATE. Institutions in Scotland and Wales are not permitted to use codes 3, 4 or 5 and as such 2 should always be derived where 1 isn’t.

As delivered, Institutions in Scotland are unable to use the delivered functionality to correctly derive TYPEYR and therefore have to manually override TYPEYR on all impacted Instances.

Will this be corrected to add logic in the derivation steps for Country and TYPEYR?
