On SEVIS Employment Authorization Page, Employer EIN Field Will Not Save an EIN With a Leading Zero (Doc ID 2245392.1)

On the SEVIS Employment Authorization page in the section Employer Information, the Employer EIN field will not save an EIN with a leading zero (eg. 012345678). When the number is entered and saved, the leading zero is eliminated, and EIN numbers that are not 9 digits cause a batch failure.

E [Xerces] cvc-pattern-valid: Value '12345678' is not facet-valid with respect to pattern '\d{9}' for type 'EmployerID'.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Go to Campus Community > SEVIS > Employment Authorization.
2. Enter a 9-digit Employer EIN number which begins with the number '0'.
3. Save change.
4. Run batch process.

The issue has the following business impact:

Due to this issue, users cannot successfully run batch.
