Issue generating or regenerating Pell and Direct Loan files after the application of the 2017-2018 Aid Year Updates for Direct Lending COD and Pell COD (Doc ID 2245912.1)

Last updated on APRIL 27, 2017

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After the application of...

CS 9.0 Patch - 24290724: 2017 - 2018 AID YEAR UPDATES FOR DIRECT LENDING COD AND PELL COD

Or

CS 9.2 PRP -  24301640: 2017 - 2018 AID YEAR UPDATES FOR DIRECT LENDING COD

When attempting generate or regenerate Pell or Direct Loan files, by clicking the "Reset" button for a specific Document ID on Financial Aid > File Management > COD Full Participant > View COD Data,  SFA_COD_OUT, called by both Generate Pell Data and Generate Direct Loan Data, runs to Success but the files that need to be created are not produced.

Note: Newly created Document IDs could have this issue if the run control was not updated and saved prior to running Generate Pell Data or Generate Direct Loan data. When the patch/PRP noted above was applied, new translate values for the Schema Version on the Generate Direct Loan and Generate Pell Data were delivered. These will show  correctly online HOWEVER, as the old 4.0 translate value was removed and replaced with 4.0A, 4.0B and 4.0C, the new translate value updates did not automatically update the supporting tables that store the run control parameters, PS_SFA_RUN_PL_OUT and PS_SFA_RUN_DL_OUT. In order for the tables to be updated with the new translate values a user would have to open the components and SAVE the page for each run control used to product Direct Loan or Pell files. If the underlying table remained with 4.0, then the Document IDs created would have 4.0 as seen on the date when the record PS_SFA_COD_DOCUMNT is queried.

Changes

Specific Schema Versions are now written to the SFA_CR_SCHEMA_VER field on PS_SFA_COD_DOCUMNT
