Keyboard 'Insert' functionality not working properly since PeopleTools upgrade

Prior to the 8.55 upgrade a user could hit the Insert key on their keyboard and the insert functionality would follow the user from page to page. A scenario of using this was in moving between pages and typing over the existing ID with a new ID (Instead of having to copy and paste the ID or using the delivered 'x' option to blank out the ID field). Now, the insert functionality works when Returning to Search on the same page but as soon as the user moves to a different page either through a tile or the Navigator the Insert key is no longer functional. This happens in all Browser flavors available, namely IE and Chrome, regardless of the user logged in or the page that is being used.
