E-SEC: Hint Response Switches to Random Hint Question. (Doc ID 2250392.1)

PeopleTools 8.55

When testing the new setup page for Forgot Your Password hint, if a user makes first request and gets an email for new password and then tries again after few minutes to request another password, the hint question switches to some random question from list of hint questions.

The hint question is resubmitted in email to user.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Access "Forgot My Password" page and specify user ID to validate > Click "Continue"
2. Enter into Response field the answer to the Password Hint Question
3. Repeat and the next time the Hint Question will be a random one from the list, not a predefined question that the user specified in their "My System Profile" from the available active questions.

Due to this issue, users cannot successfully reset their passwords to authenticate into PIA
