Last updated on OCTOBER 15, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.54 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : 8.55 version, Install and Packaging

After installing a new PS_HOME with PeopleTools 8.55.15 (and relevant application e.g. Campus Solutions 9.0) and recreating the App server and the Web server domains, following errors were observed.

Every attempt to sign on via PIA fails with the below error:

Java Exception: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: Method PeopleSoft.PeopleCode.SysVar.MAP_Market()Ljava/lang/String; not found: registering Java class PeopleSoft/PeopleCode/SysVar PTNUI.NavBarContentArea.Security.OnExecute Name:getSSID PCPC:199 Statement:6 Called from:PTNUI_NAVBAR.Activate Statement:11

The application server log shows at that time error sequences like the following:

PSAPPSRV.nnnn (10) [2017-05-03T18:37:52.978 GetCertificate] - - - (1) (NET.346): Failed to execute GetCertificate request
PSAPPSRV.nnnn (10) [2017-05-03T18:37:59.151 (CHROME 58.0.3029.81; WIN7) ICPanel] - - - (1) Could not load the JavaVM library jvm
PSAPPSRV.nnnn (10) [2017-05-03T18:37:59.545 (CHROME 58.0.3029.81; WIN7) ICPanel] - - - (0) Failed to start the Java Virtual Machine. (2,766) PTNUI.NavBarContentArea.Security.OnExecute  Name:getSSID  PCPC:199  Statement:6

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Install a new PS_HOME for 8.55.15 (and the application e.g. Campus Solutions 9.0)

2. Create the App server and the Web server domains

3. Login to the PIA

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot use the application after installing the new PeopleTools version.
