Inserting 'handling Time' Between Due Date Planned PO And The Scheduled Ship Date (Doc ID 2274687.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 13, 2018

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise SCM Supply Planning - Version 9 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Customer has setup supply planning to look at the 'scheduled ship date' as the demand date. Planned Purchase orders are created with a due date based on the due date. Currently there is no time taken into account between the moment of planned receipts of the goods and the scheduled ship time. This means in worst case that the supplier is delivering 1 minute before everything should be shipped, without violation in supply planning.

Customer would like to insert a 'handling time' between the calculated due date of the purchase order and the scheduled ship date. This would reflect the time needed to receive, inspect and move the material in-house from the receiving bay, to the shipping location.

Is there a method to add some 'handling' time?
This would mean for example:
- Scheduled ship date: June 9, 2017 - 10AM
- Handling time: 1 hour
- Desired planned time of the purchase order, created in supply planning: June 9, 2017 - 9AM

Customer tried to use 'inspection' and the inspection time defined in the inspection routing to try to insert some 'inspection time' between the calculated due date of the purchase order and the scheduled ship date. However, supply planning (material planning) seems not to look at these inspection times to calculate a 'planned purchase order due date'.
