'First Operand of . is Not an Object' Error when Adding a New Degree in Talent Profile (Doc ID 2287845.1)

Symptoms

The following error happens when attempting to change the value in the Minor field in the Employee Self Service Talent Profile page:

First operand of . is not an object, so cannot access member ProfileCtl.
JPM_PERS_PROFL_FLU.GBL.JPM_ITM_DTL_VW.JPM_MINOR_CD.FieldChange PCPC:62 Statement:1

The first operand of the dot operator must be a value of some object type to access the method or property, but the value found was not an object type.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. From Employee Self Service Fluid Homepage, select the Talent Profile tile
2. Go to Degrees and then click the Add button to add a new Degree
3. Enter information for Associate Degree and note the above error is returned when a value is selected for the Minor field
