Symptoms

On Campus Solutions 9.2, Fluid Student Self Service, Fluid Class Search Returns Inconsistent Results

Fluid Class Search (using elastic search) returns results that are inconsistent with expectations when searches are performed. For example, a wildcard search on Intro to Psych will return no matches, but a wildcard search on Intro to Psycho will return Intro to Psychology. Also differences are noted when searching on class number versus catalog number.

Expect the search to return consistent results.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log in to self service and click Manage Classes > Class Search and Enroll.
  2. Search on partial matches on subject, class number or catalog number and check for consistent results.
