Investment pools work well as long as the values are all positive. The business allows BUs to go into a negative balance and the issue arises when they receive a deposit of a positive value and the transfer is not deducted from the negative balance, but applied instead of the negative balance.
On 5/1/2017 Participant A0000 has a Market Value of -4,000,000.00
On 5/2/2017 Participant A0000 receives a deposit of 2,000,000.00
Expected Results: Entergy expects the new Market Value to be -2,000,000.00 because the deposit should reduce their Market Value, but not replace the market value.
PeopleSoft Results: PeopleSoft calculates the new Market Value to be 2,000,000.00 and replaces the entire market value instead of reducing the from the original market value.
This makes the Investment Pool functionality unusable by the Treasury team. There are 10 business units affected by this issue.
1. Record income - accounting template is Withdrawal Cash Management > Investment Pools > Participant Transaction
2. Approve the transaction
3.Check the participant position
4. Create another transaction - record a deposit Accounting template is Deposit.
5.Approve the transaction
6. The calculation is done correctly based on the transaction id.
