E-ES: How to recover from an Out of Sync Problem between Elasticsearch and PeopleSoft (Doc ID 2306268.1)

Elasticsearch Database Refresh


There are sometimes situations where the ES database and PeopleSoft database get out-of-sync. Below are a couple examples of actions that could cause this problem:
1. The PeopleSoft database is refreshed (eg you refresh your test database with production database)
2. ES database is refreshed and/or ES is re-installed

The above changes will "break" Search Functionality as the ES search data and PeopleSoft search data are no longer in sync. How can this be fixed?
