E-COB: Changing file permission on '.mng2sys' and 'aslmfsem' (Doc ID 2308917.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 19, 2017

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.55 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Site's security team is reviewing files with world writeable access. As COBOL is installed as root, these files are owned by root, the security team would like to change the permission from 666 to 664.  and systemically the security is changing the 666 to 664. Any file or directory owned by root and group root, that has world writable permission will be changed.

Will COBOL function without the world writable permissions on /var/aslmfsem and /var/.mng2sys?
