Hiding Health Savings Account on the Benefits Summary Page of the Self Service Benefits Enrollment

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Enrollment in the Health Savings Account (HSA) is handled outside of the system; therefore, for Open Enrollment, the Event Rule for this Plan Type is set to Ignore Plan. This prevents the HSA plan from displaying on the Open Enrollment Benefit Summary page. When an employee enrolled in the HSA tries to change their Medical enrollment to a plan that is not eligible for an HSA, the following error appears:
In order to enroll in Health Savings Account you must first enroll in Medical.
1. Set the Event Rule used for the HSA Plan Type to Ignore Plan for Open Enrollment (Navigation: Set Up HCM > Product Related > Automated Benefits > Eligibility and Event Rules > Event Rules Table).
2. Create the Open Enrollment Events (Navigation: Benefits > Manage Automated Enrollment > Events > Run Automated Event Processing).
3. Employee makes elections for benefits, including electing a Medical plan that is not eligible for the HSA plan (Navigation: Self Service > Benefits > Benefits Enrollment).
4. Click the Save and Continue button on the Enrollment Summary page.
