Last updated on DECEMBER 20, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Benefits Administration - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Employee Record (Empl Rcd) 0 is terminated. Immediately after that, a rehire is entered for the employee on Empl Rcd 1. At that time the Benefit Record Number is still set as 0, the same as on Empl Rcd 0. At this point, the Primary job Flag remains on Empl Rcd 0 even though it is terminated.

Benefit Record Number on Empl Rcd 1 is changed to 1. The Primary Job Flag still does not move.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
---------------------------
Primary Job Flag should move to Empl Rcd 1.

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------------------
Primary Job Flag remains on Empl Rcd 0.

STEPS
-----------------------
1. Terminate an employee's Empl Rcd 0 Job record (Navigation: Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data).
2. Rehire the employee on Empl Rcd 1 with the same Benefit Record Number, 0 (Navigation: Workforce Administration > Job Information > Add Employment Instance).
3. Check Primary Job designation for employee - Primary Job remains Empl Rcd 0 (Navigation: Benefits > Maintain Primary Jobs > Maintain Flags).
4. Return to employee's Empl Rcd 1 and change Benefit Record Number to 1 (Navigation: Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data).
5. Check Primary Job designation for employee again - no change (Navigation: Benefits > Maintain Primary Jobs > Maintain Flags).
