In CS 9.2, Release of Service Indicators with Comments Generates Error - Data Being Updated Does Not Exist (18,4) (Doc ID 2319591.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Campus Community - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

After upgrade from CS 9.0 to CS 9.2, releasing a service indicator (person) is not redirecting users to the Manage Service Indicator page after releasing a service indicator which contains text in Comments. Instead, after selecting OK to release, the system proceeds back to the Edit Service Indicator page and displays the following error, although the service indicator is actually released.

Data being updated does not exist. (18,4)

When trying to save your changes, the system could not find the existing data in the database.

This problem can happen if another user deleted the information while you were making changes. Make a note of what you were doing, then cancel the page and retry.

If the problem persists this may be the result of an application programming error and should be reported to technical support staff.

Possible application errors that could cause this including deleting the data with SqlExec while the record is in the component buffers.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Navigate to Campus Community > Service Indicators > Person > Manage Service Indicators and retrieve ID SR0400.
2. Select SI code and click Release button.
3. Click OK.
4. User is taken back to Edit Service Indicator page and message is displayed.
