E-FLUID: Publishing New Tiles To Existing Personalized Homepages Are Not Working If the Homepage Has No Tiles

Symptoms

Publishing new Tiles, set as Opt-Dflt, to existing Personalized Homepages are not working for Homepages that have no Tiles being shown.

The issue can be replicated with the steps below:

1) Login as the PeopleSoft Administrator to a Financials/Supply Chain Management Demo environment and Create 2 users, copying from user APA3: TST1, TST2

Navigation: PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > Copy User Profiles

 

2) Set Initial Tile

-Navigate to PeopleTools > Portal > Structure and Content
-Click on Fluid Structure Content
-Click on Fluid Homepages
-Click on Edit link, corresponding to My Homepage
-Go to Tile Content tab
-Under PeopleSoft Applications, check Comments And Attachments and set it to Opt-Dflt
-Save
-Click on Tile Publish
-Select Tile Comments and Attachments, under Search Results grid, and click Publish
-Click OK. Click Return.
-Sign Out

 

3) Check TST1 - Setting My Homepage for the 1st time

-Login as TST1
-Navigate to Menu > Personalize Homepage
-Click Add Homepage
-Select My Homepage - Note that Comments and Attachments is an available Tile for the Homepage
-Move My Homepage to the top
-Save
-Sign Out

 

4) Check TST2 - Setting My Homepage for the 1st time

-Login as TST2
-Navigate to Menu > Personalize Homepage
-Click Add Homepage
-Select My Homepage - Note that Comments and Attachments is an available Tile for the Homepage
-Delete Tile Comments and Attachments from My Homepage (meaning: User TST2 does not wish to see Tile Comments and Attachments)
-Move My Homepage to the top
-Save
-Sign Out

 

5) Add new Tile

-Login as the PeopleSoft Administrator
-Navigate to PeopleTools > Portal > Structure and Content
-Click on Fluid Structure Content
-Click on Fluid Homepages
-Click on Edit link, corresponding to My Homepage
-Go to Tile Content tab
-Under PeopleSoft Applications, check My Preferences and set it to Opt-Dflt
-Save
-Click on Tile Publish
-Select Tile My Preferences, under Search Results grid, and click Publish
-Click OK. Click Return.
-Sign Out

 

6) Check TST1
-Login as TST1
-Note that the Tile My Preferences shows up in My Homepage for user TST1
-Sign Out

 

7) Check TST2
-Login as TST2
-Note that the Tile My Preferences DOES NOT show up in My Homepage for user TST2
-Sign Out

 

According to PeopleBooks, the new Tile should be present in TST2's My Homepage
