EPC - Asset Attributes Are Not Saved Correctly On The Express Asset Definition Page (Doc ID 2332775.1)

Last updated on JULY 22, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Project Costing - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When using the Express Asset Definition for a project with Asset Identification Rule = Many Assets From Each Activity / Distribution to Activity Percent Distribution, and adding an asset to a project/activity, if any of the asset attributes are changed, then they are not saved on the initial save. The page must be saved twice before the asset attributes are updated on the asset definition. This could result in incorrect data being left on the asset definition.

Changes to the asset attributes should be saved correctly and reflected on the asset definition.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Create a new asset on the Project Costing > Assets > Define Assets page.
  2. Navigate to Project Costing > Assets > Express Asset Definition and add the asset created earlier to a project.
  3. Make a change to the asset attributes such as the in service date and save.
  4. Go to another component and then return to the Express Asset Definition just saved. The change to the attributes is NOT shown. Navigating to the Define Assets page shows the original asset data. However, if the user now updates an attribute like the in service date on the Express Asset Definition page and saves, the change IS reflected on the Define Assets page.
