E-PIA: SPACE IN NAME CREATES ERROR IN SEARCH NOT NOTED IN PEOPLEBOOKS Per KM 608506.1

Symptoms

Using PT8.56: Field Format Type = Name prompts an error on search if value has spaces - If the field is Format Type = Name i.e. field NAME, the search dialog prompts an error when using this to search. This is only true if the value on the NAME has spaces.

On the trace, the search SQL is generated incorrectly, notice the NAME does not take the spaces in consideration when searching:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

Issue can be Replicated in the DEMO by adding a space to a name in DEMO.

1. UPDATE PS_PERSONAL_DATA SET NAME = 'Scott, Johnny' WHERE EMPLID = 'KUN004';

2. Navigate to Grants > Awards > Award Profile
Business Unit = US001

3. Add new
4. Bring up prompt field Award PI
5. Enter field value Name = Scott, Johnny
6. Click Look Up
7. Click on search result

An error message is prompted: "Invalid value -- press the prompt button or hyperlink for a list of valid values (15,11) " The value entered in the field does not match one of the allowable values. You can see the allowable values by pressing the Prompt button or hyperlink.
