AM_DPCLOSE - Currency Decimal Issue When Run With Multiple Requests (Doc ID 2338435.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 26, 2017

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Asset Management - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On :  9.2 version, Accounting Entries

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
AM_DPCLOSE - Create entries with Decimals even currency is set to NO Decimal when running the process with multiple requests in run control
Rounding Rule is set to Natural Round on the AM BU definition

Background:  The Taiwan Dollar (TWD) is configured with no decimals in PeopleSoft.  When the AM_DPCLOSE is run with multiple requests, it is not resetting the currency code, and carrying forward the previous request currency_cd. which causes the wrong calculation of decimal position.

For e.g. if
Request 1 is for BU XX which has currency of USD (it has 2 decimal position)
Request 2 is for BU YY which has currency of TWD (it has 0 decimal position), accounting entries in table (DIST_LN)  will have a amount like (for e.g. 125.78 TWD instead of 126 TWD)

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
TWD should not have any decimals

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Rounding Rule is set to Natural Round on the AM BU defn
2. Add asset for both Business units one with decimal currency and one with no decimal currency
3. Run AM_DEPR_CALC
4. Run AM_DPCLOSE with request -one for with bu with decimals and one for bu without decimal
--> look in dist_ln, the entries are created with decimal amounts even for currency without decimal
