Symptoms

ISSUE:

The CONTRACT_HDR_COMMENTS bind in SCM causes the doc generation process to abend when the field contains more than 254 characters. A fatal PeoleCode SQL error occurred. Please consult your system log for details

Following steps demonstrate the reported issue:

Create a new Clause. Enter the required Fields.
Click on Edit Document
Click Ok
Entered Contract Header Comments then Save the Document.
Add the CONTRACT_HDR_COMMENTS bind to the Clause
Save the Clause Check In the Document then Save the Clause
Document Configurator- Add the Clause to the PURCHASES_STD_EXEC configurator then Save
Add a new Contract. Enter required Information.
Click Add Comments
Enter a Header Comment longer than 254 characters.
Click Ok
Change Status of the contract to Approved then Save the contract.
Click Add a Document
Select Standard Contract Document for Document Type.
Select PURCHASES_STD for Configurator Id.
Click Create Document
Answer the Wizard questions then click Finish
Click on Create Executive Summary
The PURCHASES_STD_EXEC configurator defaults which is correct.
Click Create Executive Summary
Get the following errors

A fatal PeoleCode SQL error occurred. Please consult your system log for details
