Last updated on SEPTEMBER 15, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.56 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Issue reported on PT 8.56.02.

When downloading/exporting data from a grid to Excel, in a PeopleSoft page, if one of the columns in the grid is a long text field and one of the rows of data contains a text with more than 1 line (there is line feed/carriage return in the text) in that field, that column is exported to Excel in multiple rows.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Open a PeopleSoft page, containing a grid that has 1 long text field.

2. Create a row in the grid, and enter data in the long text field, containing multiple lines of text. Use the 'Enter' key to insert line feed/carriage return in the text.

3. Save the page.

4. Download the grid to Excel.

5. The column that contains multiple lines of text in the long text field is exported to Excel in multiple lines.
