Error (2,280) on Direct Reports Page when Expanding Employee Node to View Indirect Reports (Doc ID 2343481.1)

When using Position Management and trying to select an employee to Approve an Absence Request the following error is received:

A fatal PeopleCode error occurred. Please consult your system log for details.

SQL Error in Exec. (2,280) HR_DIRECT_REPORTS.DirectReports.OnExecute Name:HasDirectReports PCPC:132071 Statement:1844
Called from:HR_DIRECT_REPORTS.DirectReports.OnExecute Name:UpdateIndirectIndicator Statement:1221

During the execution of SQL, an error occurred in the Exec subroutine. The preceding message should have described the SQL being executed.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigation: Main Menu > Manager Self-Service> Time Management> Approve Time and Exceptions> Absence Requests
2. On the Direct Reports page, click the '+' button to see Indirect Reports
3. Note the above error messages are displayed
