EGL: Correct Suspense Entries Page Should Not Allow Spaces In The Journal Id (Doc ID 2351477.1)

Last updated on APRIL 16, 2021

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN General Ledger - Version 9.1 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The Correct Suspense Entries page does not work like the Journal Entry/Add page.

If user enters journal id from Journal Entry/Add page with a space in the journal ID, the error message "Imbedded spaces not allowed in Journal_ID. (9000,315)" is displayed and the journal cannot be saved.

However, if user enters journal ID with space on the Correct Suspense Entries page, the journal can be saved without any errors and this should not be allowed.

Replication Steps:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to the General Ledger > Journals > Suspense Correction > Correct Suspense Entries page
2. Search for a suspense Journal
3. Override the Correction Journal ID of "NEXT" and type in a new ID value with a space in it. Example: "TEST 1".
4. Save the journal.
