E-PUM: Various Disk Issues Including Disk Space and Read-Only When Installing PUM Into VirtualBox (Doc ID 2353256.1)

Symptoms

On : PeopleSoft Update Manager, PUM environment

When attempting to install PUM into VirtualBox,
the following error occurs.

ERROR(S)
-----------------------
  The download of DPKs from /media/sf_xxx into the VM failed. This could
  happen if the directory /opt/oracle/psft/dpk does not have enough space to hold
  the DPKs. Ensure that the directory /opt/oracle/psft/dpk has enough space
  for the DPKs.

- OR -

cp: cannot create regular file '/opt/oracle/psft/dpk/PTC-DPK-WIN8.54.33-1of1.zip
': Read-only file system

- OR -

Any error similar to any of the following in the /opt/oracle/psft/dpk/setup/psft_dpk_setup.log file

/bin/tar: javavm/jdk/jdk7/admin/classes.bin: Cannot write: Read-only file system
/bin/tar: javavm/jdk/jdk7/admin/classes.bin: Cannot utime: Read-only file system
/bin/tar: javavm/jdk/jdk7/admin/classes.bin: Cannot change ownership to uid 543959, gid 503: Read-only file system
/bin/tar: bin/oracle: Cannot write: Read-only file system
/bin/tar: bin/oracle: Cannot change ownership to uid 543959, gid 503: Read-only file system
/bin/tar: bin/oracle: Cannot change mode to rwsr-s--x: Read-only file system
/bin/tar: bin/skgxpinfoO: Cannot open: Read-only file system

-OR _

Any of the disk images on the VM appear too small.
C:\Users\<user name>\VirtualBox VMs\<VM name>\<VM Name>-Diskx.vmdk
For Example
C:\Users\psoft\VirtualBox VMs\VBOX_8_56_04_SHELL\VBOX_8_56_04_SHELL-disk3.vmdk

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Attempt to install PUM into VBox.
