HCM 9.2 GSS Transfer Transaction performance issue on position lookup

When clicking on the lookup icon for position descriptions on the Job information page of the Guided Self Service Transfer transaction, the search times out. The view used for the lookup, HR_GSS_POSN_VW, is structured poorly for a DB2 environment.

Performance issues occur due to views in SQL subqueries being inefficient in DB2. Often the DB2 Optimizer attempts to resolve the subselect first, thus resulting in tablespace scans.

Expect Position Number to retrieve data quickly.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log in as a manager, click on the Update Team Information tile and then click on the
Transfer Employee tab:
2.Select any employee, and on the next screen, select ‘Yes’ for ‘Are you changing Job
Information?’:
3.Click the ‘Next’ button, and on the following page, click on the ‘Look up Position Number’
icon
4. In a DB2 environment with hundreds of thousands of rows in POSITION_DATA & JOB, this look up TIMES OUT.
