E-SEC: External (Third Party) Single Signon no Longer Working After Upgrade to PT 8.55.21 and PT 8.56.06 (Doc ID 2373565.1)

Symptoms

Third party single signon has been working on all versions prior to PT 8.55.21 and PT 8.56.06, and after applying these patches, the external SSO authentication no longer works.  The session, that contains the user credentials, is getting blanked out when it should not be.  This causes the user authentication to fail.
