Some customers may want to run automated scripts in their environment to automate starting and stopping Elasticsearch and/or other services.
Goal
What is the best way to stop Elasticsearch from a Linux server other that using "kill -9 PID"?
Some customers want to automate starting and stopping Elasticsearch in their environment rather than killing a process. While we don't have official scripts to start and kill the Elasticsearch process -- we do have other methods the customer can utilize if they are looking to accomplish something like this.
