E:RS Upload Of Unacceptable File Extension For Cover Letter Issues Incorrect Error Message (Doc ID 2395017.1)

Symptoms

While an Applicant attempts to upload a File Type for a Cover Letter with a File Extension .doc, PeopleSoft issues a Message that Says you can Only Attach Files with named extensions .doc, .docs, .rtf, .odt, .pdf, .txt.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Modify the File Attachment Extension List to only allow .pdf files and then Save
Navigation > PeopleTools > Utilities > Administration > Administer File Processing > File Extension List, remove all rows except the one that indicates allow .pdf.
2. Verify that the Resume Template has Attach Cover Letter, if not add it and save
Setup HCM > Products Related > Recruiting > Template > Resume Template
3. Create a Job Opening, and Post it Externally, note the Job Opening Number
4. Verify that the HC_HRS_JOB_OPENING and the HC_HRS_JOB_POSTING processes have been deployed, if deployed then schedule both indexes to run
Navigation PeopleTools> Search Framework > Administration Delete/Deploy to verify that they are deployed
5. If these two processes have not been run for a while then run them Full HC_HRS_JOB_OPENING_FULL and HC_HRS_JOB_POSTING_FULL
6. Once theses run to success, then from the Menu Navigate to Careers, Apply for Job Opening, either sign in or Register
7. Apply for the Job Opening just created, follow the prompts until it ask you to upload a Resume, Upload the Resume, that has a file extension of .pdf.  The Resume is attached without issue.
8. Upload a Cover Letter with the extension of .doc note the message that is generated. User can only attach files with name extensions of doc, docx, rft, odt, pdf, txt?
