Financial Aid Self Service Accept/Decline 'Further Processing Required' Error Resulting in Self Service Activity Status of Rejected (Doc ID 2395025.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to submit transactions from the Financial Aid Self Service Accept/Decline component, the following error occurs:

"Further Processing Required - Errors were encountered while this transaction was trying to save to the database. Please contact the Financial Aid office to ensure that your updates are processed. Check back periodically as further action may be required."

When reviewing the transaction produced on the self service activity page, the status says 'rejected'.

This issue can occur with both versions of self service - classic and FLUID.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid Accept decline page in self service classic or FLUID.
  2. Accept all item types
  3. Submit the transaction


The error occurs in all cases, however other award processes may work normally. The problem may occur after applying a particular application patch(es) where it was working fine before; or the problem may be unique to a particular environment, where other environments on the same patch level don't have the problem.
