E-508: Tab Over Calendar Button Fails On Fluid Pages, but Works Fine on Classic Pages
(Doc ID 2395579.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 12, 2021
Applies to:PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.55 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
The PeopleTools Global Personalization Tab over Calendar Button does NOT WORK on the Fluid Candidate Gateway. It does work on the Classic Gateway. IT ONLY FAILS IN FLUID.
When a user activates the date field then swipes away from it or Tabs, they hear "calendar start button” and instead focus should jump to the next question.
For iOS 11.2.5/VoiceOver/iPhone users it jumps to browser's previous button. On the same device using Safari it jumps to the reload button instead of the next question. Therefore a blind user cannot complete the questions.
Both the PeopleTools Tab Over Calendar Button Global Setting and the User's My Preferences Navigation Settings for Tab Over Calendar Button are BOTH set to Yes.
The user should be able to skip over the calendar icon when the Preferences are set to allow for this.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
STEPS TO REPLICATE ON FLUID:
1. Navigation: PeopleTools > Personalization > Personalization Options> Select Option Category PPTL
2. Verify Global User Option CALBTN - Tab over Calendar Button has the Option Default Value set to Yes
3 In Demo logon as a user and navigate to the Careers Tile or Careers from the Menu.
From the Hamburger icon access My Preferences > General Settings and verify the Tab over Calendar Button is set to Yes
Either create a new application, or from the Careers Home Page select My Job Applications and select an existing Draft
4. From the left navigation menu click on the Preferences option
The first question that displays is “I can start my new job on or after”
Locate the cursor in the date field and tab and notice the focus is on the calendar icon instead of question 2.
You can tell if you are on question 2 by clicking the up or down arrow key and the radio button selection will change.
5.Also login from a iOS 11.2.5/VoiceOver/iPhone user
In this example when the user clicks on tab the cursor moves to the back button on the bottom of the phone in the bold blue box.
6. In both examples it should go directly to question #2 with the Tab Over Calendar Button option enabled at the Global and User
IMPACT: iOS 11 VoiceOver users will not be able to complete the job application process.
