Goal
In a small number of exception cases, it's observed that the Estimated Family Contribution (EFC), calculated using Federal Methodology (FM) and the delivered FM Need Analysis Calculator (FM NAC) Functionality, does not match the original EFC from the ISIR as calculated by the College Processing Service (CPS); and the difference in the two values is often very substantial in these few cases.
The expectation is that the functionality in CS should always produce the same EFC as that calculated by CPS, so what would explain the difference, and what are the proper steps to fix the discrepancy and get the values to match?
